recently i’ve noticed everytime I restart Rhino I have to reorder toolbars and panels…
and when i close and open again…
any idea?? (i’m using a custom scheme, i’ve checked xml dates and it seems to be updated)

I’ve installed Rhino on somewhere around 170 computers and I find about 6 or 7 behave like this. I never found a repeatable solution that works for all. Deleting the McNeel folder in appdata\Roaming and letting it rebuild has helped a couple of times, but then doesn’t help for the rest.
I believe this is why Rhino 8 has the new “Containers” that are intended to stop this from happening once and for all.

Yeah, that is correct, V8 should restore much more relaibly, and to any number of user-defined layouts - the flexibilty of the UI has been somewhat of an Achilles’ heel as well over the years.
That said, @nachetz it may help to-
- ‘Restore’ Rhino, that is, not maximized.
- By hand, stretch and resize the Rhino window to be very nearly maximized,
- Arrange toolbars.
- Close and re-open… any better?
It will likely also help to consolidate RUI files with toolbars you need directly into the main ‘default’ rui.
- First, SaveAs the default.rui to a new name, if you have not already (Options > Toolbar page)
- Then on the same page import toolbars from any ‘external’ rui files, like from plug-ins to the ‘big’ one.
- Close the other RUI files and arrange the imported toolbars as you like - this should be more stable.
