Installation problem Kangaroo2 on Rhino5 (64 bit)

Hi,

Been working for ages with Kangaroo, this time I’m failing to install it on my PC at home. What I do:

  1. Unblock the zip file Kangaroo 2.42 and unzip.
  2. Paste the solver and K2 files inside GS libraries… (double check that both files are unlocked)
    Kangaroo 2 does not appear on Grasshopper…

My Rhino is Version is
5 SR14 64-bit
(5.14.522.8390, 05/22/2017)

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Alex,

Is it possible you have another copy of the file somewhere on your PC?
What I think sometimes happens is that when multiple copies exist, GH loads the one (typically in your downloads folder) which isn’t unblocked, meaning it won’t work, even though the one in the libraries folder is unblocked.

all works fine! I followed the instruction in the pdf. Thanks again :slight_smile:

You may also find you need to turn COFF loading off (by typing GrasshopperDeveloperSettings
from the Rhino command prompt and unchecking the box), then restarting Rhino.

Since Kangaroo 2 comes pre-installed on GH for Rhino 6, would it be okay to download and install Kangaroo 2 on Rhino 5 for ppl that have both Rhino 5 and 6? so can they be used together.
