I installed WIP8 but when it opened it was using the customizations I have in RH7. I removed it. Is there away to install WIP8 so it is not connected with 7 and I can experience it in default mode and when it closes it does not affect the Toolbars/Rui in 7?

Anyone? Can I install WIP on the same machine with 7 without it using 7’c customizations or affecting 7?
Have you tried doing a new install of WIP V8?
My experience was WIP V8 does not use my V7 settings for the Rhino properties. Of course if I open a .3dm file which was created in V7 the document properties are the same as when last saved.
Mine the same, with one exception - it seems to want to pick up plugins I have installed in V7.
Yep. I’ve installed a new download of WIP8 several times. When I open, it has all my aliases, UI color changes, etc., from RH7.
Which is simple to remedy. PlugInManager
and uncheck Enabled for the unwanted plug-ins. Then close and restart WIP V8.
This post was about restoring defaults for WIP V7 but may be relevant:
Or you could go to Options
> Rhino options, scroll through each topic and subtopic, and click on Restore defaults where applicable.
Would these “restore defaults” save to the info RUI, etc., for my Ver 7? I do not want to lose those.
So I followed Pascal’s recommendations re RegEdit and WIP 8 opens in default. Yay. Kinda. This missing text problem I have in Ver 7 on this machine that I never solved has transferred over!
I’m convinced that somewhere in my fooling around with “advanced” settings, I may have changed the font’s color to white on a white background. Perhaps someone knows what that key might be?
If not, is there a procedure to wipe all Rhino from this machine including remnants or 5/6 and start fresh with a clean install of 7 and the WIP?
I have 7 working as I want it on my other machine.
