Hi all, I’m working on project for a facade design course involving pvc membrane and soft insulation batting - kind of jumping off of this project to create an upholstered effect. Reason for the simulation is to try out some patterns at whole facade-scale for renderings, drawings, and ideation, and less for 1:1 fabrication purposes.
I’ve made a series of physical models (shown below), but would like a way to more accurately simulate these creases and edges and stuffing for the required drawing representation deliverables for the course. I think the important thing to note - and the reason why I’ve been having difficulty making more typical kangaroo inflation scripts work for me - is that the fabric doesn’t stretch here, it’s more draped over this fill and pulled, than stretched like a tensile structure or soap film generation.
I’ll follow up with some attempts in GH I’m working on, but if anyone has any experience with this type of simulation I’d appreciate any pointers!
