How do you build a shape like this with SubD's?

Are you using SubD to recreate a 2D shape? If so, why?

NO I WANT TO 3D-IFY IT
the plan was to extrude it

i was just looking for the best way to do it

You can draw the 2D shape in three steps.

The red object has radial symmetry activated.

And a 3D version:

That shape totally feels like a polyline of 6 segments.
It seems rounded only because of the thickness of the border…
