HIP GPU rendering fails

Problem:
HIP GPU rendering fails. GPU shows in HIP tab with orange dot.
Compile log error:

System info:
Rhino 8 SR29, Windows 10 (10.0.19045)
2020 iMac, Boot Camp, i9-10910
AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT, 16GB VRAM
Driver: 21.30.45.22 Boot Camp Unified Driver R6.4 for Windows 10. downloaded her: Apple Boot Camp Software Graphics Drivers

“Failed to load HIP kernel from
C:\Program Files\Rhino 8\Plug-ins\RhinoCycles\lib\kernel_gfx1010.fatbin
(Shared object initialization failed)”

CPU rendering works. OpenGL viewport works fine.
No OpenCL errors.

Is this a known compatibility issue with Boot Camp AMD drivers?

You using an Intel Mac?

I think realistically, the AMD card in that machine is too old to support HIP.

Andy

Hi Andy.

Yes I am using Imac 2020 - 3,6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9

There is no problem rendering on the GPU in the mac version of Rhino 8.

Is there a way that to make that possible in windows 10 boot camp Rhino 8. This is where I need the power when i render animation with bongo.
