Help: Weird ambient occlusion shadow/lighting effect

As you can see in the image, there is a weird shadow effect that is happening around the steel tie rods while using ambient occlusion lighting. I can’t figure out why there are shadows being cast onto the ceiling/walls behind the tie rods. Is this a RAM/memory issue? Or is there a setting in display options that can help with this?

Hi Matt - yep, that SSAO is a cheap trick and can’t work right in all views - for this in particaular the testSSAOOptions command > reduce RadiusMultiplier, will probably help but it may mess up something elswhere. Use a raytrace for accurate shadows, is the upshot…
(that said, I can’t get my test to look as extreme as your image…)
