"Help" showing dimension precision displayed?

using the “Help” function, where do I find where to set/adjust the number of digits to the right of the decimal point displayed?

Hi Art -

That depends on what you are looking at.
For the display of coordinates in the status bar or feedback from a command such as Length, the help page is here: Units properties | Rhino 3-D modeling

For the display of numbers in annotation objects such as dimensions, the help page is: Annotation properties | Rhino 3-D modeling

thanks for your post! Rhino dimension currently shows 3.13; I’d like to configure to show 3.125….. unable to find any suggestions from “Help” !!!

Hi Art -

Did you find the sentence that was highlighted from that link?

You need to find out which annotation style you are using for the dimension object in the scene. Then go to “Length Units” and change the “Linear resolution”.
These are screen grabs from the macOS version, but you should be able to find that on Windows.

don’t see anywhere that sets the precision in “Help”; lots of places that say precision is used in various calculations……….. use case collage: image of Rhino8 (Windows) model showing dimension in question selected; image of resulting Document Properties showing 0.0001 selected; image of top level Document Properties with Annotation Styles shown with inch decimal selected……… are there more switches or built in protection I haven’t recognized ?

Art

Hi Art -

You need to expand the “Annotation Styles” entry in the “Document Properties”, then select the “Inch Decimal” style and scroll down to the Length Units.
