Heightfield Troubleshoot - 16 bit not working

Hi everyone, I’ve read the other heightfield posts on here, and am following this tutorial on youtube. Used the same steps to generate image, but heightfield remains flat. Have tried with multiple other photos and nothing works… Any clue as to why its not working? Does it not work with a jpg image?

It works perfectly fine in Rhino 7.38, and fyi.

Please pay attention to the input of the Height value. If you enter a very samll value (such as the default 1), you may get a flat result.

Typical JPG only supports 8 bit greyscale.
