Heightmap stays flat

My heightmap stays flat. The first is a heightmap from a PNG, the second is a heightmap from a PNG example of the internet, and the third is the original TIF file of the first PNG heightmap.
I cannot understand why the heightmap keeps flat.
What do I have to change?

Thanks in advance,

(could not upload the TIF-file)

The file didn’t get uploaded correctly because your images got pasted into the middle of the link - try editing you post and re-inserting your file.

I’m going to hazard a guess that the TIFF is a 16 bit image (GeoTiff) and that Heightfield will not work with it.

Thank you Helvetosaur for saying.

Cannot tell much from your Rhino file, as the images were not stored inside it. Can you put the images into a zipped folder and upload them as well?

I replaced the 3DM-file with a ZIP-file that includes everything.

Both PNG files work here.

The file ahn2_5_44bz1.tif is in 32 bit grayscale, which the Heightfield command doesn’t appear to support. If you convert it to 16 bit grayscale (I don’t know how much data you lose here) , it starts working again.

That is odd. On my computer only the the middle Heightmap of the example file works, the ahn2_5_44bz1.png seems not to work.

So, you used the command ‘heightmap’?
Coud you upload for me the file that worked on your computer?

Thanks in advance.

Below is just a quickie test with a 100 x 100 mesh from your ahn2_5_44bz1.png

The command is _Heightfield

Thank you Mitch.
I used the wrong ‘create object by’.

As you wrote, ‘mesh’ will do the trick.
