I relocate the Gumball on my object because its current location is gibberish.
But when I deselect and reselect the gumball forgets I had relocated it and its back to gibberish.

Hi, no I don’t.
interesting-
run the systeminfo command in rhino and and post results here.
gumball should stay put unless you have autoreset enabled.
Here you go.

I noticed it happens on a model with many things. If I copy the part I am relocating the gumball into a new document, it stays.
so this is not a consistent behavior?
can you outline when it happens with steps to repeat? I’m not able to repeat this here. I have to specifically reset my gumball once its been relocated.
No steps involved, just working on a model pasting a bunch of geometry and doing kit bashing.
I actually copied a big bunch now and it does happen in a new document consistently.
I have uploaded said model to support, can you see it Kyle? Thanks.
Hello - just in case - If mulitple objects are selected, Gumball cannot remember the relocation.
-Pascal
ah, ok I see what’s happening
your object is a group. If you make it an object and not a group you can relocate and it will stick.
Oh no, can we have that as a wish for next one then?
Blocks works fine it seems, but kinda cumbersome having to block for this though.
Yes? I think many users expect gumball to work with grouped objects, it feels the most natural I think.
Thanks.
@andy is this possible, relocated gumball position stays put on a group? I would expect that this could be the case if gumball position was saved when set to object.
I have this problem too. when I rotate any element (line, surface,…) the gumball moves with the element. But when I unselect and reselect the item, the gumball is reset and it is back to its original position. It’s really frustrating. How can I fix this? (Autoreset is off, and I tried it with gumball aligned to Cplane, object, and world)
I also need this gumbal fix with grouped objects..
Hm, I don’t think it was ever logged in to be worked on
Hopefully someone from McNeel gets back to us.
