Gumball *drag* Relocate {super quick/brief question}

Hello,
Quick question about the manual gumball relocate function via Ctrl + drag? It looks like it’s no longer available on Rhino WIP? Is it gone? It performs *an extrusion now regardless of pressing it before, during, or after dragging.

Is it something I can re-enable?

It still works fine on R7.

Thanks!

I think it is a UX redesign strategy to enable more uses for gumball in the Push/Pull workflow as well as the newly added SUBD features.
I follow @theoutside 's trick of creating a shortcut “RG” for '_GumballRelocate this served me well over the years.

Hi Rene - in V8/WIP, a double-click on a gumball handle, or origin point etc plus drag will modify the gumball without affecting the selected objects.

Oh wow, just tried it - this is great and easy to get used to - thank you

*what would be the new way to rotate it? Same as we used to rotate it via Ctrl + click + drag on the gumball arcs?

nevermind, I double-clicked the arc :slight_smile:

Is there any chance of Ctrl-Click-Drag (or any other Modifier-Click-Drag, MiddleClick-Drag etc.) eventually making it into Rhino 8? I get the simplicity of double clicking as a great addition to reduce the learning curve for new users, however, switching an operation from one click to three, dozens (sometimes hundreds…) of times each day, kinda feels like two steps in the wrong direction!
