For some reason when we extrude a closed planar curve with Gumball, holding Ctrl down, we are not getting a closed polysurface, only a surface, Did we turn a setting off?
Thanks,
Don

Hey Don,
IIRC, if you extrude a curve with Gumball, you get an open surface/polysurface, if you extrude a surface with Gumball, you get a solid…

Well when did that change? I have a training video here that shows how to use gumball,I have worked through it in the past so I know that the video was correct, but now when I have someone trying to follow along with the video, we can’t do what the video clearly shows is happening. (i.e. extruding a closed curve to a solid)
Thanks,
Don
I don’t know, because I never use it that way - I find the key combo too clumsy to use reliably. However, extruding a planar curve is ambiguous - you may want either an open or closed result, like having chosen Extrude with Solid= Yes or No. Since this choice isn’t available via Gumball, I guess they had to decide which way to go. And I guess it’s easier to cap an open extrusion if you want it solid rather than extracting faces from a solid afterwards…
@margaret The Help doesn’t indicate any of the above, just how to extrude, but not the result…

Thanks, I’ll add a note.
