I have several custom grasshopper furniture definitions that are inexplicably showing on the incorrect plan view, and only affects objects “above” the level (i.e. level 2 furniture is showing on level 1). I have already checked to see whether the furniture is set to ‘projection only’. This is only occuring in a fraction of rooms, and only on a couple of the plan views, so it is also an inconsistent bug.
From what I’ve read on the forums this was an error that was raised previously and regarded as fixed by the version of VA2 that I am currently running.
The second error is minor but also perplexing - I have some short stair runs at ground level (3-4 risers) where the “up” arrow is also being shown on the level above, despite the stairs themselves being contained only to within the ground floor (indicating a level change at ground floor). As this expected behaviour, or is this an error? Again, this is not occuring for all the short-run stairs, only a fraction of them.
Is there any additional troubleshooting that I can do on my end, as it is severely impeding my workflow and project development.
Please, could you send me your file to visualarq@asuni.com (or post it here)? Also, as both errors are not happening everywhere, could you indicate in which objects is this happening? I’ll test it to check if it is an error or if it can be solved making some changes in the file.
I see that the objects are placed below the corresponding level, that’s the reason why the objects which should be shown in Level M.01 are shown in Level M.00 and why the stair is not displaying correctly:
Hi @alfmelbev, is there no way to fine tune this behaviour? I have some floor plates that are staggered and at different levels, and would prefer to be able to catch them in a single plan view, rather than multiple as I have had to with other cores.
Also, it is to an extent unexpected behaviour, as surely anything above the indicated plan cut (+1200 in this instance) should be disregarded?
You can show in a plan view all the objects which are contained inside a level. The problem here is that those objects are placed in the level below the one where you need to show them. So I think there are two options: changing the level elevation so that levels are in the correct position or moving the objects up a bit until they are placed in the current levels.
I think I’d go for the first option, it doesn’t matter if you have got a slab staggered, as it is contained in the level it will be displayed correctly. I changed Level M.01 to an elevation of 9510mm and, after updating the plan view the problem is solved.
