I recently installed Rhino on a new computer and I’m getting a lot of clipboard errors on copy/pasting components. The error is inconsistent: sometimes I can copy/paste components within a file and sometimes I can’t. It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the file, the number or type of components I’m pasting, or anything else I can decipher. It happens about 25% - 50% of the time I try to paste components. I’m not running any virtual machines. Windows 11 with Rhino 8 SR7. Any ideas?
Same here btw, funny is after this error I can usually copy/paste the thing I was trying to copy/paste just fine.
Maybe try updating to SR11. There have been a lot of fixes/changes lately, might help.
Ive been struggling with the same thing in R7 windows 11… Any ideas?
I got this nice message after the import of a *.stp file
Rhino 9 WIP also crashed twice in a row trying to display the content.
Here’s another one I get quite often:
My files contain blocks with geometry from other cad software. Not everything is nice and perfect.
On R8 SR21 and still getting this all the time, to the point that GH is pretty unusable unless I never copy paste anything. Any updates on what’s going on here @DavidRutten @dale anyone
Please help us.
FWIW I have R7 on the same machine and never any GH copy issues there on my end
Hey everyone at McNeel. Can this bug be tracked down? When you search for the copy/paste breakpoint error, there are dozens of posts about this, and I have yet to find a McNeel employee acknowledging it other than David Rutten way back in 2015. This is a bug that has existed for at least 10 years and affects some users consistently. It just happened to me today when I was trying to copy/paste a Scribble component (since you can’t alt-drag Scribbles). And, as Michael_Pryor said above, after the error pops up, you can copy the component just fine. It happens at least once every time I use Grasshopper. Since I know copy/paste works after I acknowledge the error, I tend to move on, but those 10 seconds when GH hangs before the error pops up are a real drag on UX.
