Gradient lattice (from solid to lattice)

Dear all grasshopper masters,

Does anyone know how to achieve this in GH? I searched on youtube on several videos, including dendro, intralattice and multipipe workflows, but couldn’t find any tutorial that covers the gradient blend around the lattice structure? (from solid not see-through but dented region to a lattice semi see-through region).

Second question is there a way to make this lattice pattern more geometric (not voroni), but more like this:
More controlled and regular

Any suggestions or required plugin for this will be great to know.

Many thanks!

You can achievei it with Crystallon + Dendro

Hi Jessesn,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I also tried Dendro and Crystallon, but the result is not as nice as the reference, especially in the solid region:

I tried to use the boolean union function in Dendro, with the time glass shaped volume in order to achieve the gradient disappearing effect on the lattice, but you can see the result is quite broken and funky.

Not sure is this workflow the right way to go… And also once the boolean operation is done in Dendro, the geometry became more broken and jagged…

Any suggestion to achieve this smooth and natural effect would be great.

Many thanks!

Thank you Jessesn!

That’s really helpful. Tried looking at several tutorials online but there isn’t that much Dendro related tutorial.

Hello

you could also search on this forum there are quite a lot of example. The most simple is to search using Google '“site:https://discourse.mcneel.com/ dendro”

On occasion, Quad-Ramesh serves as an effective mesh smoother.
