GGSAP - Coincident Node Points Error

Hello,

I am trying to create ggSAP frame elements using the ggSAPCreateFrame component. However, I keep receiving an error that states “1. Solution exception: Request for generated beam has coincident node points and is ignored at node 37 55.9137311999884,0,19.8118984”. See below for an image.

Correct me if I am wrong, but this seems to be occurring because the beam highlighted in green shares a similar point to the beam that is circled in red. However, the component seemed to work fine with the beam elements that I have circled in blue. Those beams are also split in segments at the column joints. What would be the solution for an issue?

Thanks!

Hi Johnny,

Typically this error occurs when a very short line (near zero length) is input, probably from a splitting operation. I’d suggest you validate the input with a curve length component, and dispatch short lines (less than the equivalent of 1mm or your node search tolerance) out of the frame inputs.

Let me know if this doesn’t make sense or help.

Cheers,

Jon

Jon,

That was it. Thanks for the help!
