Geodesic Dome

Hi, I’m trying to make a 5/8 geodesic dome and I’m having trouble with the bottom, especially fitting the base after cutting it.

Anyone know how i can do it?

I need arrange the edges on the bottom like the blue lines.

how about culling the faces instead of cuttung the mesh and pull the points back to an isotrim of the sphere?

Thank you very much, it works perfectly! I added -mesh Edges- in the script and got all the structures I needed.

Just one question: how did you got at that number?

the idea was to use the existing topology
so I played with that value to get just the faces i want … this is not a precise number … and as you can see when changing the slider there is longtime no change in the result… but suddenly
