Hi, is there anything similar to 3D furniture warehouse (Sketchup) for Rhino? I am in the profession of Interior Design and would like to import models to my Rhino 3Ds.
Thanks
I’ve bought Savanna 3D. It’s okay… The issue is that you have to search through individual files for each individual Savanna model. This becomes quite time intensive (a re-occurring themse): Take searching for just a regular chair for instance: Many of the chairs favor aesthetics over function so just trying to dig out a regular chair can be a bit of a pain. I posted a while back that I wanted to start creating PDF’s showing each individual model with the file name displayed below, just so people knew which file was which without having to import file after file; got side tracked unfortunately (along with zero interest from others lol). They are quality native 3D Rhino files however.
I feel like, especially in the case of Visual ARQ, having more content readily available would be both a win-win for customers and vendor as it would help existing customers while at the same time attracting new customers. As I get better I plan to start contributing stuff myself but for now I won’t be cluttering F4R with any of my abominations.
I tried do dig out a link I saw on Food4Rhino (it’s actually hard to search exclusively for 3D models), but there wasn’t much there. There are a few good models posted but really not much.
I recently also installed Twin Motion. It has TONS of great content but I’m not sure how well it would import back into Rhino.
You can bring in Sketchup models…
It’s hard to envision how to make a marketplace for this stuff that actually works. When I’ve needed stock models there are the perennial problems that most of the models just aren’t worth paying for, and/or they’re copying some trademarked design so you can’t legally use it.
True! My hope is that “community building” momentum increases and perhaps we’ll start seeing a flow of decent 3D models. I just happened to be digging through Food4Rhino today (and had another good look when I saw this post). There’s lots of really good apps available for free… And I’m 1,000% sure that the effort that went into making those apps was multitudes greater than say… a useable model of a 3D couch. I’m actually bit surprised that there aren’t more models post. To be honest I kind of wish there was an entire separate site just for models.
Sketchup Warehouse has it’s pro’s and cons: TONS of content is available and it’s very easy to search for. The catch is that a lot of the content is of very low quality, and often won’t import into Rhino (let alone be useable in Sketchup).

We have been working on such library for some time and had a soft launch on our website;
We did not do any promotion for that online library because after some time we decided to move the whole library with some cool features to a plug-in environment.
Soon, we will start another topic for that purpose to share the roadmap and to discuss the necessary features all together.
Until then please take a look at current 3D models on our website and feel free to reach me anytime to discuss.

Thanks Mustafa. Maybe one day I’ll upload a model or two if the quality of my models are ever good enough.
Here’s what I was talking about with Savanna 3D: I needed to look for a certain type of chair. I had to go through EVERY chair to find out what they looked like.
Note that I cannot share these for obvious reasons. But eventually I’ll make a file (and image) of each Savanna 3D group of objects. Some of the R6 models aren’t in R7… so I’m going to combine them if they aren’t duplicates. I WON’T check to see if the R6 model of the same corresponding number is the same… as that would be a lot of work… so I’m just going number by number for now.
Hi again, sorry for late answer.
We are planning to include a feature to import your own library (not upload) to easy categorization along with hashtag features.
So, possibly you’ll like it.
I’ve created a collection of iconic furniture pieces as part of a 3D model sharing platform that I’m building. You can download them here and I may add more in the future.
