Forcing Rhino to choose points in a single plane. say XY plane

Hello,

I am wondering whether there are any ways to force rhino to pick points from a plane. I know if we use CPLANE we can restrict this, but Keeping OSNAP on, the cursor will pick points out of plane also. It will be great if we have a switch in OSNAP which will prevent it from picking points out of plane. Or a 2D mode is also okay.

Any advice or comment would be greatly appreciated.
