I need to create a design using a font; a compass rose with N, E, W, S.
Sure would be nice to SEE all the fonts as they appear, but instead I’m clicking on Bauhaus,
no that’s not it, Bardoni, no that’s not it either, Bulemia, nope, Barferooni, no…
Does anyone have a visual representation of all the available fonts?
Or, barring that, would it be of value to anyone else to make one?
Thanks
In the Text (creation) box, you should see the correct preview of the font in the preview window - albeit small.
Once the text is placed and you want to edit it, if you change the font in the Properties box via the drop-down list, you should see the font update on the screen as well as in the preview window.
That should be more or less all the fonts available in Windows fonts…
Hi Rob -
In addition to what Mitch wrote, before placing the text, you can click twice on the font dropdown to collapse the list but to keep focus on it. When you then use the keyboard arrow up and arrow down keys, or the mouse wheel, you’ll see that font used on your text string:
The Windows “Fonts” page in the settings shows each font using a few words:

AHA! Thanks; when I edited annotation styles and opened the fonts list; they all appeared the same.
When I opened the TEXT dialog box, each item on the list, though small, did appear in its own style.
Hi Rob -
Thanks, I don’t see why that list couldn’t show their preview

If you combine @Helvetosaur’s answer with @wim’s you can quickly scroll through font choices with a large view of the text.
Place a text block with the text NEWS in a viewport. Make it as big as you need. Select the text and in Properties double click in the Font box, then scroll the fonts with the arrow keys.
I solutioned too soon! Thanks
