FIle opens as curves and not objects

I opened a dwg file on rhino6 and the file opens as 20 000 curves when there should be objects.
Display modes don’t work and if I import parts of this file to another file it shows up in far location and is lost when trying to zoom extents.

I need the file to show up as 3d buildings as it does on another computer, what is to be done with my computer?
