Feature request: switch layer

it would be useful to have a layer type, maybe called “switch group” or “variant group,” that allows only one layer turned on at a time as children, which when you turn on another of the children layers the other previously turned on layer turns off automatically

Rhino 7 already lets you switch the selected hidden and visible layers. You just need to select them preliminary, then hold the Ctrl key and click on one of the lamps to cycle between 4 different states:

  1. Layer A is on, layer B is off;
  2. Both layers are on;
  3. Layer A is off, layer B is on;
  4. Both layers are off.

ok, a little weird behaviour but better than nothing.

I was thinking more to a feature similar to the “switch group” in autodesk Vred.
