Feature Request: 1D-Scale by % or +/- cm to extend and contract

As all previous calculations are still workarounds I would like to introduce a better command line calculation

1D-Scale by % or +/- cm to extend and contract

Dear all, Is there an option to do exactly that, I would like to scale objects and add or subtract length. Thought I could type it in the command line as it would normally allow calculations. Thank you
