Export in model space consistent line thickness

Trying to make a series of jpegs for a parts library and diagram instructions. All individual objects are at varying scales but I need a consistent line thickness regardless of the scale when I export. I have messed with settings in the print dialog with no success. Is there a way to achieve this? I have also tried generating 2d drawings from the models and models themselves in pen display with no success. Models in pen display is preferred.

Hi Dani,

Can you post a small example file of your setup?

Attached. Thank you.

Can you tell us a little about the process? how are you making said JPGs?

Here is one using the ViewCaptureToFile command.

I’ve been using the Print command, selecting jpg and attempting to toggle and mess with the settings.

Note that in the Display Mode there are settings for Width of various objects.

Hi Dani -

The most critical settings for image export in the print dialog are not in your screenshot.
You’ll have to experiment with combinations of output size and DPI.

But does this impact the print export? In changing pixels vs object width there was no change when I went to print and compared the two. Theres a change in printing the pen view of the model vs the line drawing.

sorry just so I’m clear - there would need to be different output and dpi adjustments depending on the size of the object to get consistent looking lines?
