Exploded dims in non world XY plane?

If I place a dim in say the Right viewport, then I explode that dim, the resulting text will plop out on the world XY plane. Shouldn’t the resulting text try and emulate the exploded dim as much as possible and stay in the plane that the dim was placed in?

Hi Sam - that does sound wrong to me… checking…

Does not happen here in the latest - can you post a file with a misbehaving dim in it?

Hi Sam - thanks - looks like it is the ‘Horizontal to view’ setting; I guess it ought to use the dimension plane.
