Encountered an error after installation of Rhino 7

I have installed Rhino 7 but it’s encounters an error while opening the app. I tried several times uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn’t work May I know how to solve this

Hi -

Does Rhino 7 start in safe mode?
When you see that dialog box, are you sending in the report?
-wim

Hi,

It didn’t start at all. After the installation it directly opens that Dail box

Hi -

I’m afraid that didn’t answer any of my questions.

  1. Have you tried starting Rhino 7 in “Safe Mode”?
To do so, from the Windows Start button, scroll to Rhino, find Rhino 7, expand that folder and use Rhino 6 in Safe Mode (I know, it should say “Rhino 7” but it doesn’t…)

  2. Are you sending in the crash report?

Hey,

Sorry I didn’t knew about safe mode. I am new to rhinoceros. It’s working in safe mode.

Safe mode is a troubleshooting tool that blocks loading OpenGL graphics and also plug-ins; either of which can cause startup problems.

When in Safe mode, please run the “SystemInfo” command.
Save the results in a text file and send it back in a reply.
Hopefully something will stand out.

  • Are you running on a laptop or Desktop?
  • How many display screens are you running?

Thanks

Hey,

I am using laptop so only one display. Yes, some graphics are not working in safe mode( like rendering, Arctic view)

I have run the command “Systeminfo” then the whole file disappears and opens the same Dail box which I have sent before.

Thanks

Hi -

Can you clarify that statement? You have posted a picture of that dialog box in this thread. Is that what you mean or did press the Send Now button in that dialog box?
-wim

Yes, the same. And yeah I have pressed that send now button also.

Since Rhino runs in Safe mode but not normally, my guess is the problem may be old display drivers.

  1. Run the Windows “Device Manager”
  2. Expand the Display adapters section
  3. Take a screenshot of what you see
  4. Right-mouse click on one the display adapters (there may be two)
  5. Click Properties
  6. Click on the Driver tab
  7. Take a screenshot of that information
  8. If there are 2 display adapters get a screenshot of it’s driver tab too
  9. Please send all that back in a reply

Thanks
