Encoding as an AVI file

Hello Bongo friends,

I am relatively new to Bongo and just created my first named views video. I rendered the animation as png images (900 frames) and then used Bongo Video Encoder with compression set on avi. Three questions:

  1. I noticed that I couldn’t play the avi with Windows Media Player but could play it with Quicktime. Is this normal?
  2. I noticed that there are four options in the Video Encoder’s Compress pull down: AVI, MPG, WMV, and OGV. I tried AVI. The quality was very good, but the file was huge. I tried WMV. The file was much smaller but the quality of the image was not nearly as good. In general, what are the pros and cons of the four options?
  3. Finally, I want to create a video that is “universally” openable, by both Windows and Mac users. What would you suggest?

Thank you.
