Dynamic Area Generation Rhinoinside Revit

Hi all,

One of the most powerful tools of RiR is the ability to dynamically update a set of area plans while changing the wall locations.

I am currently doing this through extracting the geometry of walls and then extracting area boundary curves at the desired location.

I have two questions:

  1. It is possible that regardless of the parameter, create a node that gets ALL the location lines of a wall

  2. Snapping/Aligning an existing area boundary line to the closest location line of a wall - trying to replicate the constraint alignment process in Revit.

Thank you

Hi Yge742,

To clarify…

So one wall, you would like to know all these possible locations?

I’m trying to picture how that would work in a case like this. It might be easier to delete and replace.

Hi Japhy,

Yes, the first solution is exactly what I am looking for. This tool can be used to categorize different types of walls and their area calculation locations.

Could this be implemented?

All possible locations are available via the Structural Layers, other than that you would need to cycle through the location lines.
