_Dot command not launching

Good morning,

I am experiencing an issue with Rhino 9: the _Dot command is not working (it doesn’t launch at all).

Additionally, while I can insert numbered annotation dots, the software crashes whenever I try to edit the text.

Is anyone else facing this problem? Do you have any suggestions on how to resolve this?"

Hi Silvio -

Does the command line then say that the command is unknown?

Does the Rhino crash reporter pop up when Rhino crashes? If so, please always send in that report.

As a first step, I would try a Repair of the Rhino installation from the Windows Control Panel.
-wim

I tried the repair via the Windows Control Panel, but the issue persists. I’ve submitted the crash report and I’m also pasting it below

RhinoDotNetCrash.txt (3.9 KB)

RhinoCrashDump.3dm (31.2 KB)

Hi Silvio -

Thanks. I’ve asked the devs to take a look.

Back to the Dot command. Is there any feedback on the command line?
-wim

The command repeats itself, but the dialog box for entering data (size and text) doesn’t open; it acts as if it’s unresponsive.

If I try to edit an existing ‘dot,’ the program hangs.

Furthermore, if I attempt to copy and paste an _dot from RH8 to RH9, RH9 crashes immediately.

Hi Silvio -

How are you editing the text in such annotation? From the properties panel or from the dialog that opens when you double-click an annotation?
Could you post a file with crashing dots and annotations?
-wim

Hi @MAVERDESIGN,

The Dot command in part of the Commands plug-in.

Make sure this plug-in is enabled and loaded.

I gather that it’s enabled.

Hi, the dialog box doesn’t pop up at all. As soon as I click, it freezes.
I hope this video helps!

Hi @dale and @wim

I uninstalled everything and reinstalled version 9.0.26041.13355, but the problem persists. How can I fix this? Also, is this a known issue or is it just me?"

The problem was fixed in version 9.0.26055.12305. Thank you
