Our office is looking for a document management system. There are a lot of options out there. Ideally something that can track issued drawings and files, create document issue sheets, enforces some level of file-naming, explorer type interface (we have a windows folder structure that is working well and would like to maintain), not cloud based, maybe a bit of customization with templates or integration of basic office documents, pdf creation. PDM is not desired.
Only really need something to control and track what is published to clients and external bodies. Our internal systems are reasonably successful as is.
Am I asking too much? What are people using? Pros and Cons? Pitfalls to avoid?
