DisplayMode like Rhino5 in Rhino6

Hi all,

We just switched to Rhino6, so I’m still getting used to it. I usually work with untextured ‘material-less’ models. I find that by the default DisplayMode all models are too white and bright, and are pretty harsh on the eyes. Could someone give me some tips on how to get it a little more like Rhino5?

Hi @simon9,

Go to the Rendering panel and un-check skylight.

Hi David,

That works! Thanks.

But they are white… so instead of turning off the skylight, just alter the default material a bit, set it to 10% gray and or lower the environment intensity. I think you will grow to love it. And if so then save an empty file as template so you have that as a startingpoint.
Also test out the other environment maps.

Another good suggestion, I like the ‘soft’ feel with skylight on, I’ll give it a shot.
