Display layer as underlayer - make floor plan below opaque

Is it possible to display the floor plan below the current one in an opague manner? Like in Revit, there is an option to set an underlayer to work over, so I can have level 0 display with opacity below level 1.

Hi @Intuos

The only way I can think of is on a per layer basis. Maybe in V8 they have added a complete control?
In V7 you would have to make a transparent material for both the layer material and the linework properties. Both have a transparency setting.
Leave your bottom layer as is.
Then tweak your drawing layer material transparency and linework transparency settings.
Not ideal at all and what a pain when you want to make the overlayer opaque again or switch the effect on and off. Also won’t work well if you have non layer materials applied to objects.

the way I get around this is to create a layer called, for example, 1st floor, then put all the layers to do with 1st floor as sublayers. You can then lock or unlock the whole floor. locked you can then draw your 2nd floor over it. This works as a ghost layer as in Archicad.

That doesn’t automatically set the colours to greyscale, nor affect the draw order, unfortunately.
