Displacement texture model

Hi all!
First message here on the forum for me! Pretty basic knowledge of Rhino!
I’m trying to model a dome (D 65mm x 19mm) that has to have an internal texture similar to the photo here attached.
I was trying to work with a displacement map, mesh it and then somehow go from there.
Unfortunately I’m stuck on the first step!
I’ve found the “dots blur” texture is quite similar to the result I’d like to achieve, but I’m having issues with the mapping.
While from the top view is fine, on the “side” there is too much deformation and not quite the result I’m trying to achieve… I’ve been trying switching from box to sphere mapping, but still results not good.

I was wondering if there is anyone that can give me some help!

Thank you!
Alberto

Hi @Alberto_Acquistapace
I’d probably go with something like this. You’ll have to accept some degree of distortion when mapping onto a double curved surface. A quick tip (that you might already know) is to just use a simple texture with your displacement map when adjusting the UV mapping (As shown on the dome nearest the camera). That way you don’t have to wait for the displacement to update with each little edit you make.
