Disappearing geometry

A student finds geometry sometimes disappearing. Both line work as well as shaded objects. I haven’t seen it myself because all lessons are currently online. Here is the system info. Is there anything that can be done about it on this type of laptop?

Hoi Gijs -
That laptop isn’t in line with the hardware recommendations for Rhino 7, but, having said that, it looks like I’m running on the same model. I haven’t run into issues with geometry disappearing so I’m wondering if this is file-specific.

I’m running macOS Big Sur - your student is on Catalina - but I used Catalina on this machine in the past without issues.

Also, I see that I have been running with the GPU Tessellation setting in Options > OpenGL unchecked. A very quick test with checking that option doesn’t seem to make a difference but that’s just a scene with a simple box. It’s probably worth a try.

If you get a hold of a specific file, I can give that some beating here…

@wim, here is a file and screenshot where you can see that objects are partly disappearing. When I open the file here it looks normal though.

Here is a file where the problem happened and a screenshot in case it doesn’t look the same for you. I had just finished all of the helix/ spiral task and was playing around with moving the freeform curve so the helix would update its shape too, but I accidentally clicked on a different object than the freeform line and then this happened. When I clicked “cmd z” a small section of the blue helix returned but nothing else.

And the other curves and the vertical lines disappeared apart from small sections ( the green and red parts) even though I wasn’t touching them
