Disable move without selecting move command....?

I often find myself moving items when I only really want to select them…Anyway to disable that feature…?

That adds an extra pick to really moving anything.
The other option is to increase the drag threshold.
Make it bigger and it’s harder to inadvertently drag objects without adding the extra click.
