Differences in default settings in Templates in RhinoV5 and V7

Hi,
V5 and V7 win10.
File > Properties
As I compare template Small Object - inches in V5 to same in V7, I notice some differences that cause me to wonder should I change them in V7.

Given that its an inches template why do I see this:
Linetypes V5 Inches and V7 Millimetres ! Should that be altered to inches, surely yes ! why is it mm ?

Mesh V5 Jagged and faster and V7 Smoother and Slower

if I import a mesh into a file made with this template I presume it carries on using the mesh setting it had , be tnat custom or jagged and faster ?
Would importing a new mesh see it use Smoother and Slower, and would Jagged and Faster existing with Smoother and Slower visible at the same time cause issues ?

Rendering V5 is called Render V7
Rhino Render V5 I cant see in V7,
The settings are so much more its probably all in the mix somewhere !
a massive makeover has occurred here I see, (exciting  )

Units - Relative Tolerance 1.0 percent in V5 I cannot see this in V7
ditto Units > Model
ditto Units> layout

why ?

Rhino Options V5 Rotate Relative to View , V7 has Rotate Around World Axes

Viewport Properties V5 Linked Viewports ticked V7 same is unticked

This is as far as I have got, at Appearances and the colours.

Yeah, life moves on. Things change. Beatles were then, Coldplay is now.

[Edit: Well actually someone I’ve never heard of is probably now and Coldplay is then, just less then than the Beatles. Doesn’t mean they’re bad, just things moved on again.]

Hi, ok some are changes, will be better for us than V5 setting,.

but…[quote=“Steve1, post:1, topic:151213”]

Is this intentional that an inches unit template has Millimetres though for Linetype ?
Should I correct it to inches ?

also…Rhino Options V5 Rotate Relative to View , V7 has Rotate Around World Axes

is that far better or would users that did the V5 still want to do that ? I guess we wait and see what we get when rotating and alter it if need be.
