Did something change with icon rendering in the last updates?!

I have been away from Rhino for many months and several updates. I just recently updated my desktop from 8.12 to the latest 8.15 and it has changed my custom icons!

I made a Drafting toolbar where the icons include specific layer assignment in the tool command. All I did was edit the standard icon by adding red to certain parts. This took some time but worked well. I just noticed after the update that these icons have changed and what was white is now dark making them impossible to see.

I just checked my laptop which I haven’t updated (8.12) and the icons are as I made them.

I would really hate to have to remake the icons. Can I copy those icons over to my desktop, or will the copies also be altered because of something done to icon rendering in the updates?

If I can copy over the icons, how do I do it?

No one have any thoughts on this?

I believe @CallumSykes can help here.

Hey @CalypsoArt,

Yes, I made an intentional change after weighing many options as this was causing some weird bugs elsewhere. But there is a way to still have the light/dark mode flipping.

If you want to share your RUI with me I have a tool to fix it for you, or I can provide instructions.

I have been away from Rhino for a long time. Not sure how to get the RUI to you. any instruction will be helpful.

The file should be here %appdata%\McNeel\Rhinoceros\8.0\settings\Scheme__Default\ and named Rhino.UI.Resources.rui.default_<guid>.xml.

Attached the file in a message to you.
