I was showing a new Rhino user how to set scale in a detail today, and it was clear the process was not intuitive for him. He was trying to set the scale by grabbing the detail, then attempting to change the scale it in properties. The issue he was having is as soon as he entered 1/4 in the Inches on layout, the Inches in model would multiply by 4 and Inches on layout would snap back to 1. It would be a lot easier for someone trying to get a scale of 1/4" = 1’-0" could just type 1/4 in the Inches on layout, and 1’ in the inches in model (and have the input boxes accept different units like the command line).
