I suspect this is a bug. Every now and then, in complex models, performing an action will bring back deleted curves.
For example, I create some sweeps (based on curves), go on to do something else, then delete some curves that are no longer needed, do some other steps (e.g. some boolean operations), and suddenly deleted curves reappear.
From that point on, they will reappear intermittently despite being deleted many times. In some cases, existing curves will be duplicated, so that massive amounts of curves can be selected with SelDup command. Once again, deleting these is a temporary solution and eventually they too will come back.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Any way to fix it?
OK- off hand I’d say those are serious contenders for being the culprit here. I would disable both and see if the problem goes away, but my knee-jerk guess is that MadCAM is more likely to blame.
Disable plug-ins in Options > Plug-ins page and then restart Rhino. Any better?
Does this only happen after you’ve activated your model in madCAM? Or does it happen even if you are not using madCAM?
I ask because we have numerous seats of madCAM here, and we’ve never seen this issue. I have seen some funky graphics glitches over the years, but most (if not all) were cured by updating to newer video drivers.
If you determine that madCAM is causing this, please let me know, and I will contact Joakim.
After fiddling around with various plugins, I narrowed it down to RhinoGold as the most likely culprit. Neither t-Splines nor madCAM by itself would produce these issues, whereas RhinoGold would after a period of time, especially if used one of its builders.
