Decals in Rhino 6

Hi All

Question: Is it possible to “clip” a decal in 3D in order to limit it’s influence on the object in other ways than “forward” / "backward?

I wish to add a decal with the “ekko”-logo on the INSIDE of the room WITHOUT applying to the outside of the opposite (U-Shaped) wall. Similar with the larger logo on the wider wall with the larger logo.

I solved the latter by detaching the opposing wall and thereby avoiding the U-Shape. The sliding doors have two different decals on either side. It is OK just to attach two decals (one on either side) on both doors, but it would be much nice to have a “Decal Symmetry=On/Off” toggle

Check the “Named Views”, “Named Positions” + “Snapshots” for easy reviewing different scenarios.

Kind regards Tim Elkær, Erazmataz@gmail.com

P.S.
None of the decals (added in Rhino 6.0 SR31) are translated when
using the newest version (Dec. 2020) of KeyShot 10’s “LiveLinking”.

Hello - no, it ‘transmits’ through the full object - it would be nice to have sub-object decals but we don’t.

This is how Decals=Labels are implemented in KeyShot 10. The “Depth” is limitting the influence of the decals. Unfortunately you need to reapply decals manually, since they are not exported/imported correct.

Guys - Hi and thanks for allowing me in .
I’m trying unsuccessfully to find a step-by-step process for allying simple decals to surfaces - "Step-1 “where to find the command” 2. … 3. … etc.
ANY suggestions as to where I could find this " All I can find wherever I look is "You can do this and this … " with NO how-to . I’ll re-post this , but all I’ve found anywhere is this OLD thread .
Thanks for ANYTHING you can offer , and my sincere apologies for reviving this WAY OLD thread !
