Crash on print to pdf

Edit: I’m pretty certain I narrowed the problem down - I was running out of VRAM.

Hi,

Today I’ve tried to do prints to pdf (A2, 600dpi, raster; both rendered view and custom view) using the RhinoPDF setting through _Print. I’ve tried this on both my desktop and laptop, and Rhino just CTDs without even throwing an error log or a “program has stopped responding” message. Today is the first time I’ve had the problem, on either machine, running SR12, and I was running _Prints earlier in the week without an issue. Below are the SystemInfo prints for both my machines:

I’m perplexed as to what could suddenly be causing the programme to throw a wobbly. Does anyone have any ideas?

KR,

Jess

Do you know if anything was changed on your system? A Windows update, for example?
Is this now crashing with any file or only on specific files?

I have a feeling that both machines have had a significant Windows Update in the past week or two; although precisely when I cannot remember. It has been crashing with two different files so far, I’m going to load up another completely unrelated file to see if I have the same issue with that.

*EDIT: I just went through and updated the GFX drivers on the desktop, and went to re-print one of the previously problematic files. The view in question printed to PDF without issue. Maybe I’m just having bad luck today with machines, I’ll do a few more and see if the problem reappears. I haven’t tried on the laptop yet - but both desktop and laptop should now be running the same GFX driver version.

Any chance the file has “Bad objects” in it?

Run SelBadObjects and see what is selected.
