I updated to Version 8 (8.20.25133.14002, 2025-05-13) and noticed my custom containers were reset to default and can no longer stack containers like I did before. See photo. Was this feature removed or is there a bug somewhere? I cannot drag any of the panels and hover to dock below container 1 anymore. The purple boxes no longer show up dragging and hovering a panel.
That appears to still work fine here.
I’m noting, however, that you write that you are dragging a panel and trying to dock that somewhere. That does not work. You can only dock containers.
You can either use the Container Manager (with the Containers command) to create a new container and fill that with the panel(s) you need, or you can drag a panel from a container onto the viewports. That will create a new container with that panel. You then need to select and drag the container (not the panel) onto a purple docking box.
As for the container having gone missing when you updated Rhino, obviously that is not something that should happen. To minimize problems when that does happen, though, I’d advice to use the Windows Layouts Manager (with the WindowLayout command) to save and possibly export a backup copy of your custom layout.

Thank you so much @wim . This was the correct solution and had no idea it functioned this way! When I first used Rhino 8, I was able to just drag the panels to create the containers. Noted on saving my layout via the WindowLayout command. Appreciate your time.
