“complex” surface modeling tip

hello, i’m trying to create this surface…


(top and front view)

can someone give me some tips on how to approach it?

i’ve been doing it by extruding the top View curves, and then cutting the extrusion with the front view curve… then deleting the extra faces

Hi,

You can first draw a rectangle with the appropriate width and depth and explode it into its segments. Then select the top and bottom segments and rebuild them with more control points. You can then join the segments back into a polycurve and use some of its new control points to alter it.

Next you can extrude the profile curve to a solid (Solid > Extrude Planar Curve > Straight).

The extrusion can then be further deformed with cage editing (Transform > Cage Editing > …) or any other transformation.
