Modelling/Extruding to different shape

Hi, I am having trouble with some basic modelling. I am looking to create and object with a different shape top and bottom. I am wondering what the best way to model this is please?

I have tried extruding one shape and manipulating the control points however I have been unsuccessful adding control points to an object. I have tried a cage etc.

Is there a better/cleaner way to model this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Man I think Loft is the lamest tool ever but yeah this is one place for it.

This is why folks need to use/take proper training and learn the basics before the “fancy” tools that hide all the work from you.

This kind of surface manipulation has its place but you generally want to build your shape directly, ie. use those nice curves you created to build the surfaces you need. This gives you full control over your design intent and let’s you be very explicit about sizes and tolerances if those are important to the part.
