Complex curved surface texture

Hi

I tried to apply some image on to a curved surface. There’s quite a bit of up and down on the surface. After applying any image, color or material, what I got is the same incomplete surface. I tried a few ways, like creating uv outline then using photoshop to create the image, or simply selecting the surface and opening the material property section. none seems to work. Anyone has any idea what I did wrong? thanks a lot

sorry i figure it out myself. there seems to be another surface layer underneath the target surface, that causes interruption

Good find… anytime you see that type of display artifact think about duplicate or coincident geometry first. It happens in lots of 3D apps.
