The command prompt cannot be placed using CommandPrompt. If it is docked at the top (default) and you run the command and for example click the “Bottom” option, nothing happens. You can manually drag the command prompt to the bottom however. If you do, running CommandPrompt>Top also does nothing. The “Floating” option doesn’t work either.
If you accidentally choose the “Hide” option, you better know what you are doing… There is no longer an entry in Options>Appearance to show it again (despite the help saying there is). You can get it back if you know that you have to type the following (even though you can’t see it because the prompt is hidden): CommandPrompt (Enter) Show=Yes (or Show (Enter) Yes)
Or, you can open the MacroEditor by typing that and then type out and run the macro in the editor.
Yes, thanks. It’s on the “UI Freeze” list at the moment, but, yes…
The UI layouts feature is completely new, so probably not, no. But mentioning it where I can hopefully leads to users trying that first when they want their UI to be reset to the defaults.

Well, I’m currently reading through the Help on everything that concerns containers, toolbars, window layouts etc. Seems like the original mottos “intuitive” and “discoverable” that we used to discuss in the past history of Rhino have simply been turned on their heads to make a system that is about as unintuitive and undiscoverable as I could imagine.
Thanks.
In the few weeks leading up to UI Freeze, there are still quite a few things that are being worked on. That might - or might not - be the things that you are currently reacting most to. It’s hard to know what’s on your mind but specific feedback will be taken into consideration.

Sure. But as we are already two+ years into the WIP and release is in a matter of months (less than a year likely) the system is already in place and only mostly ‘cosmetic’ and ‘paper cut’ stuff is going to be changed. The basic monster that the whole UI system has become will remain - there is no going back.
