Command editor in Rhino8

Where is the command editor in Rhino8? Also, is there a simple way to copy a command set from Rhino7 to Rhino8?

Hi Chris - see

Thank you Pascal. I don’t think I explained what I’m looking for very well. I’m specifically referring to this area in Rhino7. Where can I find it in Rhino8?

Hi Chris- that is not in V8 on mac. In V8, you can edit buttons directly, as has been on Windows ‘forever’.
You can also use Macros to edit or create the underlying macros that Rhino uses - that may be more what you are after. A macro that is used by one or more buttons, for example, can be edited there and affect all the places it is used.

Yes. I think that’s what I’m looking for. Where can I find the macro editor? Is that the same thing as Aliases?

Hi Chris - on the Windiows menu, near the bottom.

The Command Editor in Rhino 7 also allowed us to customize the buttons of a #d Connexion Space Mouse. This is a critical tool for me to use. Where can we find the editor to assign commands to pop up menu’s and buttons?

I have not taken the time to learn about all the new features of Rhino 8 but my first impression is not that positive. Usually new versions are always promising as has been the case from McNeel but the screen layout and menu’s make me feel like I am working on a windows platform in the 90’s. At first sight it looks like a major step back but I hope I will feel different once I find my way around better.

It gets better. I had to figure out some workarounds to some things that worked well on a mac. But I got them working reliably eventually. Other things are a little buggy but McNeel is working on getting those bugs squashed it seems.
