Is there any way to make color dependant plan views using spaces in visualarq?
The idea is to use spaces like areas in revit, which allows you to create only one area and give color to it depending on the parameter you want to render.
For instance, if I have the boundaries describing the gross area of all the units in a shopping center, I would like to have a plan view describing the vacant units, another plan view describing the use (retail, restaurants, entertainment) of those units, maybe the rents by € per sqm, etc.
I can do that using revit, by creating the parameters and then using different color schemes to render out the different plan views without duplicating geometry. But I cannot find a way to achieve that in rhino+visualarq.
Linking a table of parameters to the geometry and being able to render multiple views would be something very useful for the operation and administration of a building, since it gives a very comprehensive and visual way to read the data.
Hi @gonzalosomolinos, I think you could achieve this with different space styles and managing their visibility by layer.
For example, you could create a space style that displays certain information. You put in Layer A. Then you have another space created on top of the other one, but that has a different style, and shows a different information. You put that in Layer B.
Then, in the page layout, you have 2 Detail views with the same plan view, and you show one of them with the Layer A turned off (per detail) and the other one with the Layer B turned off (per detail as well).
Thank you Francesc, for your reply.
I´ll try to explain better what I was trying to do:
What I need are table dependant color schemes. The objective is to render the actual situation of a building concerning the changes in terms of ocupation, use, and other parameters.
It´s something that it will need to be updating from time to time. So it´s not a static view, which I could render as you say.
I was trying to figure out how to link the Excel table which acts as source of data with some Grasshopper definition, so I could automate more or less the actualization of the info.
I have modeled something similar in Revit, as you can see in the screenshot, but I was wondering if I could use Rhino to reach the same functionality, since I would like to move my model from revit to Rhino.
It´s a very convenient way to render data in a infographic way, without redrawing or multiply the area elements in the model.
