please check the attached file:
while gumball-dragging the clipping plane, the three objects appear perfectly planar-capped at the cutting plane (screenshot 001). as soon as i release the mouse button, the cappings dissappear and the objects are displayed as open polysurfaces (screenshot 002).
see screenshots, please help …
Thanks for that file!
I’m only seeing that happen for one object in the 8.13 version that I’m running here.
On the list as RH-84036 ClippingPlane: No Cap on Section Sample
-wim
Hello @wim ,
It seems that @stevebaer has already created a task for this. He asked me to send him the file, and he mentioned that he recorded it as an intersection issue. However.
reopened my file, checked “units … tolerances” (i always forget that .stp import sometimes cranks up this setting insanely) … tolerances were at 0.00001
set them to 0.01
clipping plane now works much better, still in some cases it fails to cap
opened the sample attached under the link above (Failure sample: No Capping On Section.3dm) and tested the solution described before (lowering the tolerances) which made the clipping plane work in the expected way.
